Raptors Announce NBA Summer League Schedule

The Toronto Raptors announced Thursday their schedule for the 2014 Samsung NBA Summer League in Las Vegas. Twenty-four teams will participate in a tournament-style format to crown this year’s champion. Teams will compete in three preliminary round games from July 11-15, before being seeded in a tournament running through the championship game on July 21. Each team is guaranteed to play at least five games.

Toronto will open the preliminary round Friday, July 11 against the L.A. Lakers. The Raptors will also face Denver on Saturday, July 12 and Dallas on Monday, July 14. All three games will be played at COX Pavilion on the campus of the University of Nevada Las Vegas and will be broadcast live on NBA TV.

The Raptors will make their seventh appearance at the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas (2006, 2008-10, 2012-13) and hold a 15-15 (.500) record overall at the event.

Toronto finished NBA Summer League 2013 with a 3-2 record and reached the quarter finals of the inaugural single elimination tournament after receiving a first-round bye. Jonas Valanciunas was named Most Valuable Player of the tournament, as selected by a panel of media members. He averaged 18.8 points, 10.0 rebounds and 29.3 minutes in four games.

NBA TV’s coverage of the NBA Summer League will begin in COX Pavilion on July 11 with a four-game slate. The network will televise all 67 games, including a total of 38 games live during the event, including the championship game on July 21. In addition, fans will again be able to watch, via a subscription-based package, every NBA Summer League game live at https://nba.com/summerleague and on the NBA Summer League app.
