A Win Is A Win...
April 1, 10:23 a.m.

A win is a win is a win. The Raps did just enough to hold off the Bobcats here in North Carolina as they hung on for a 104-100 win.

Chris Bosh was driven in every sense of the word. He was determined to get to the foul line which he did as he attempted sixteen free throws en route to a 32 point, eight rebound, five assists and two steals game without committing a turnover in forty-six minutes. It's this kind of performance the Raps need out of their franchise player on a regular basis down the stretch as the Raps look to secure the fifth seed in the East.

Rasho Nesterovic closed out a tremendous month of March with a 14 point, 11 rebound game. Jamario Moon was efficient taking "comfort zone" shots as he scored 15 points-grabbed eight rebounds and blocked two shots. Anthony Parker was rock solid with a 20 point, five assist and four rebounds game.

T.J. Ford is on top of his game. 16 points-7 assists in 34 min. No contorversy in Charlotte this time around with Primo Brezec. He got a DNP-CD as did Jason Kapono who went from starting to chillin’.

Darrick Martin told me he still wants to play. If not with the Raps then with another NBA team. He's hoping to be in uniform next year which will be his 14th year in pro ball. He told me he will also weigh the decision to retire if a coaching position opens up. His aim is to become a head coach in the NBA one day. He is a tremendous guy and if anyone can do it it's D-Mart. Martin will be developing his now ex-teammates in a variety of ways.

The jury is still out on Adam Morrison as a player. He's sitting out the season with a knee injury. I have a minor-not major-but a minor problem with his appearance. His hair is too long. From an image standpoint it just doesn't cut it. Should you care? Probably not. Just one man's opinion-mine.

I hope he has a tremendous career but I have my doubts about his defense. It will be interesting to see how his knee responds after ACL surgery. Sean May better get in shape in the summer if he expects to play.

The Raps will practice today in Atlanta and play the surging Hawks tomorrow night at 7 p.m. on theScore. The Hawks go to 34-40 with a 17 point win at Memphis. The Hawks scored 73 first half points. Atlanta has won 5 straight at home.

The Raps and Wiz are at 38-36-Washington holds the tie breaker.

Philly is 37-37

Other NBA notes...

I got to get a hold of the Suns-Nuggets game. Amare with 41/ Nash with 36 as Phoenix rallied from a 22 point deficit and beat Denver 132-117 as the Suns bagged #50.

Washington finished off its five game road trip at 2-3 getting hammered by the Jazz. C.J. Miles with a career high 29. The Jazz nailed 15 threes...15 - Are you kidding me?

I am not a candidate for the GM job in Milwaukee. Every day I go on line and hundreds of names are in the mix. This is a crucial period of time for Milwaukee. They have a very good business side with John Steinmiller. Now they have to match that same professionalism, skill level and passion with a basketball man who can get things turned around and the sooner the better.

Indiana is running out of games and time but at least they're still putting up a good fight. Then again, they're playing the Heat 105-85

Got to love baseball's opening day. I was sitting in my Charlotte hotel room expecting to see the Jays-Yankees game. Mother Nature did her thing so I caught the Tigers-Royals contest. Ok, it's one game but should I be concerned about the Tigers bullpen?

My Cubs lost to the Brewers... I live and die with that team. The Brewers gave Eric Gagne how much? I guess ten million doesn't guarantee you a save any more. Ok, my bad he's got 161 games to change that.

Johan Santana -impressive against the Marlins.

Barry Zito got lit up ---again.

Checked in to my Atlanta hotel room and caught some wacko hilights of the Pirates win over the Braves. Love it.

Cleveland and the White Sox always play interesting games which they did on Monday.

I've got to check out the new park in DC.

Saw an old friend in North Carolina and do yourself a favor. Reconnect with someone who has played an important part in your life. What's ten minutes out of your busy world to call, write, e-mail a friend today that you have lost touch with. That should be a challenge for all of us.

People.com is reporting tennis star Andy Roddick is engaged to model Brooklyn Decker----where is Jack Armstrong....HELLO!!!!!!!
