Kapono To Attend Irish Spring Raptors Dance Pak Auditions

July 23, 2008

Toronto Raptors forward Jason Kapono will take part in the selection of the 2008-09 Irish Spring Raptors Dance Pak this Sunday at Air Canada Centre. Kapono will be an honorary judge as dancers from across the Greater Toronto Area compete to be part of the city’s most recognizable dance team. For the first time fans will also have an opportunity to be part of the selection process through a series of contests run by The Score and Raptors.com.

In his first season with the Raptors, Kapono appeared in 81 games for Toronto averaging 7.2 points and 18.8 minutes. He finished the season shooting a league-best .483 (57-for-118) from three-point range and successfully defended his title in the Footlocker Three-Point Shootout at the 2008 All-Star Weekend in New Orleans.

The audition is open to female dancers age 18 and older with at least two years of dance experience. Members of the Dance Pak make over 100 appearances throughout Toronto each season including all Raptors home games, corporate functions and charity events. The Dance Pak has also performed globally at NBA events in Europe, China, New York and all across Canada.

One lucky fan selected by The Score will have an opportunity to be an honorary judge during Sunday’s audition. Also, the final member of this year’s dance team will voted on by the fans at Raptors.com

Registration for the event will begin at 9 a.m. outside Gate 1 at Air Canada Centre.
