August 15, 2008

The Toronto Raptors announced Friday an eight-game preseason schedule to start the 2008-09 campaign. The team will return to Edmonton for the first time since 1999 when they entertain the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday, October 21 at Rexall Place. The Raptors defeated the Vancouver Grizzlies, 110-84, in their lone Edmonton appearance October 18, 1999.

The Raptors will play host to an international club at Air Canada Centre for a sixth consecutive year when defending Euroleague Champion CSKA Moscow comes to town Tuesday, October 14. The Raptors have also played Zalgiris Kaunas (Lithuiania), Maccabi Tel Aviv (Israel), Benetton Treviso (Italy) and Panathinaikos (Greece) in the past in Toronto during the preseason.

Toronto will play three additional games at home against NBA teams, facing New York (October 8), Philadelphia (October 12) and Minnesota (October 16) at Air Canada Centre. Prior to their stop in Alberta, the Raptors will compete in the two-day Preseason Shootout at the STAPLES Center in Los Angeles on October 18-19.
