Raptors Set Opening Night Roster

(Nov. 1, 2004) -- The Toronto Raptors announced Monday their roster for Wednesday’s regular-season opener versus the Houston Rockets at Air Canada Centre. The 2004-05 campaign marks the Raptors’ 10th anniversary season. In accordance with league rules, all teams are required to reduce their training camp rosters to a maximum of 12 active players by 6 p.m. today.

To reach the 12-player limit, the Raptors placed centre Jerome Moiso (strained left hamstring), forward Pape Sow (left knee tendinitis) and guard Alvin Williams (right knee inflammation) on the injured list. The injured players must sit out five games before being allowed to rejoin the active roster. They will be eligible to return for the Wednesday, November 10 contest at the Utah Jazz.

Williams sat out all eight preseason contests on account of his knee injury and Moiso missed four preseason games after suffering his injury in the first quarter of the October 20 contest versus Benetton Treviso. Sow dressed for all eight contests, totaling 24 minutes of playing time.

The Raptors finished the preseason with a 3-5 record, with their five defeats by a total of 16 points.

The complete 2004-05 opening day roster follows.
