Raptors Release Roger Mason Jr.

(December 16, 2004) -- The Toronto Raptors announced Thursday they have waived guard Roger Mason Jr. The Raptors placed Mason Jr. on the injured list November 13 with a sprained left ankle. He was on the active roster for the first six contests of the season but did not see any game time.

Mason was acquired from the Chicago Bulls in exchange for Rick Brunson on December 16, 2003. He appeared 23 games with the Raptors last season where he averaged 4.0 points and 12.4 minutes.

He averaged 12.0 points, 3.7 rebounds and 4.0 assists in a three game span from February 24-27, including a career-best 18 points at New Jersey on the 24th. He has played in 43 career games, averaging 2.9 points and 10.3 minutes.
