Sept. 27, 2011

The Toronto Raptors announced Tuesday their broadcast schedule for the 2011-12 NBA season, in the event the NBA is able to reach a new collective bargaining agreement with the NBPA in a timely fashion. All 82 regular season contests will be broadcast in High Definition (HD) and televised nationally for a sixth consecutive season. This also marks the 10th straight campaign that the entire regular season schedule will be aired locally.

TSN and TSN2 will televise 47 Raptors contests across Canada during the 2011-12 campaign. TSN2 has the season opener against the Philadelphia 76ers on November 2 from Air Canada Centre. It will also broadcast the first matchup with the defending NBA Champion Dallas Mavericks five days later from Air Canada Centre. TSN2’s schedule also features games against Phoenix (November 16), Boston (November 23), Miami (November 25) and Orlando (November 26 and March 28).

TSN’s schedule is highlighted by the lone Air Canada Centre appearances of the Miami Heat on December 2 and Los Angeles Lakers on February 12. TSN will also showcase road contests at the Lakers (December 13), Dallas (December 30), Phoenix (January 24), Miami (February 5) and Orlando (March 13).

TSN will also carry the conference finals and select playoff games, NBA All-Star Weekend coverage, including the 61st annual All-Star Game on February 26 from Amway Center in Orlando and exclusive Canadian coverage of the NBA Finals.

Rogers Sportsnet will be the home for 35 Raptors regular season games, broadcasting 23 games on Sportsnet ONE and 12 on Sportsnet's four regional channels. Sportsnet will also broadcast up to 75 NBA US regular season contests and have the broadcast rights to 22 NBA playoff games, as well as feature programming on NBA Action and NBA XL.

Sportsnet opens its 2011-12 Raptors coverage with the lone Air Canada Centre visit from the Los Angeles Clippers on November 9. Four days later Sportsnet ONE's first road contest will feature Toronto's only appearance in Oklahoma City against the Thunder. Other highlights in the Sportsnet ONE package include December 31 at San Antonio, January 31 versus Orlando, February 29 at New Orleans and March 23 versus Chicago.

Sportsnet's regional channels schedule begins with an Atlantic Division matchup versus the New York Knicks on December 4 from Air Canada Centre. Sportsnet will also be the home for big games in March versus Houston (March 7) and Boston (March 21).

For a seventh consecutive season all 82 Raptors telecasts will be produced by NBA TV Canada. Veteran play-by-play voice Matt Devlin will call all the action for a fourth season. He will be joined by former NBA first-round draft pick Leo Rautins for broadcasts on Sportsnet and Sportsnet ONE and “The Coach” Jack Armstrong on TSN and TSN2 telecasts.

Sportsnet Radio The FAN 590 will once again be the radio home for Raptors broadcasts. For a seventh season Paul Jones will handle the play-by-play duties with Eric Smith serving as the analyst.
