WAS OVER WHEN...

After the Hawks used a 13-2 run to turn a six-point Raptors lead into a five-point deficit, Toronto managed to claw back to within two points twice more. But the Raptors couldn't get over the hump due to missed shots and turnovers, which culminated in a key sequence in the final minute.

Toronto trailed 99-97 with 58 seconds to play when Andray Blatche hauled in a key offensive rebound off an Antawn Jamison miss. After Blatche drilled both free throws to put the Wizards up four, Hedo Turkoglu turned the ball over on the ensuing possession and a fourth straight Raptors loss was all but assured. Tough start to a week that continues with three road games in four nights.

THE

GAME CHANGER

Antawn Jamison turned a good game into a great one with his performance in the fourth quarter. The versatile forward scored 10 of his game-high 30 points in the final frame, including a clutch long jumper from just inside the right side of the three-point line that kept the Raptors at bay with 2:29 to go. Jamison then gestured to the crowd for silence, but his play was doing a pretty good job of that.

He added 12 rebounds, two assists a steal and a block in just over 43 minutes of work, also a game high.

THE UNDERRATED RAPTOR

Second straight strong game at home for Andrea Bargnani, who posted his fourth double-double of the season with 20 points and 11 rebounds (four offensive).

His commanded a lot of attention from the Wizards as the game wore on, opening things up for Jarrett Jack and Jose Calderon to attack the basket. It will be interesting to see if Bargnani can keep it rolling away from ACC for the next three games, which hasn't been the case through the first quarter of this season.

STAT OF THE NIGHT

Ten. The number of consecutive games that the Raptors have allowed at least 100 points. As a result of that alarming stat, it's been eight losses in the past 10 games with the only wins coming from brilliant offensive performances against the Heat and Pacers.

This recent run eclipses the previous franchise-high of nine games of 100+ points allowed. It's been set twice and most recently from February 20 - March 11 of 2009.

THAT'S A RAP

"They were better than we were tonight; bottom line. We didnt shoot the ball as well as we could...

"I thought we had good looks. I thought they took us a little deeper and changed up their coverages, but we still had pretty decent looks for the most part, the right guys were shooting the basketball."

- Jay Triano

3-GAME OUTLOOK

Wed., Dec. 2 vs. Atlanta Hawks
7:00 PM ET (theScore, FAN 590)

GAME NOTES:
No time for the Raptors to dwell on the loss, as they open a three-game swing in four nights against the Hawks in Atlanta. The Hawks boast a 12-5 record -- with a 7-1 mark at Philips Arena -- but they've stumbled of late by losing three of their last four after winning the previous seven. The Raptors dropped three-of-four meetings last season against the Hawks.
