| Novak hits the hardwood with the kids at the first Raptors Clinic Series session of 2013-14
On November 24th 2013 the Raptors Basketball Development team welcomed 35 kids ages 10-14 for the first installment of the Raptors Clinic Series. The focus of the clinic was building the fundamentals of shooting hosted by 3pt specialist Steve Novak.
Descending on the Raptors Practice Court for a day full of fun, basketball, and team building, the youth were set for a great day. Covering all the necessary areas, the kids worked on ball handling, passing, shooting and defense before being led through some off court fitness training.
As nutrition is a significant part to the overall health of all athletes, Toronto Raptors Executive Chef Chris Zielinski also provided our participants firsthand insight on the team’s eating habits while cooking up a tasty chicken parmesan and nutritious fruit smoothie.
As if a tour of the Toronto Raptors Locker Room wasn’t enough, the group was off to the practice court to watch the Raptors practice and get a taste of how hard NBA players work behind closed doors. Once practice was over it was time to get back on the court with Steve Novak. Each clinic participant had the chance to work with Steve and learn about on-court decision making and contested shooting, and all left the court that day with an improved shooting touch!
