Toronto Raptors Throw A Dinner Party
Nov. 14, 2008

The Toronto Raptors traded their sneakers for trays when they served dinner guests at the annual Tip Off Dinner presented by Miller Genuine Draft. Guests who attended the evening at Maro Supper Club were treated to an elaborate dinner served by the Toronto Raptors team.

The dinner gave fans a chance to rub shoulders with players, management and coaches. Benefiting the Raptors Foundation for Kids, the Tip Off dinner has raised close to $250,000 to date for children’s and at-risk youth charities.

Cecilia Alejo, director of Hispanic Youth Alive spoke at the dinner about the Raptors Foundation for Kids’ contribution to her organization. Through Team Up for Youth, an initiative of the Raptors, Toronto Maple Leafs, Toronto Argonauts and Toronto Blue Jays, the Raptors have donated $100,000 to Hispanic Youth Alive. Hispanic Youth Alive strives to enhance the capacity of their diverse community to fully participate within Canadian society.

The Tip Off Dinner is an initiative of the Raptors Foundation for Kids, the Raptors’ charitable arm. The Raptors Foundation for Kids is dedicated to assisting registered charities across Ontario that strive to better the lives of young people. Projects, such as building basketball courts, playgrounds and reading centres including Toronto’s Cornell and Woolner Parks have given community youth a safe environment to have fun, learn and develop.
