NEW YORK, April 18, 2006 – Chris Bosh and Mike James of the Toronto Raptors, Brevin Knight of the Charlotte Bobcats and Josh Smith of the Atlanta Hawks will be wearing different uniforms for the upcoming NBA playoffs when the four NBA stars suit up as special guest reporters for NBA TV, beginning with the tip-off of the postseason next week. Bosh, James, Knight and Smith will be assigned to four different playoff cities during the first round providing analysis of the teams and one-on-one interviews with the players and coaches.

The players’ reports will air during NBA TV Insiders, the network’s basketball news and information show, which airs daily beginning at 7 p.m. ET. The players also will be featured during NBA TV Live, the network’s daily NBA wrap-up show, which includes a complete breakdown of the day’s action, highlights from each game and interviews with key players and coaches, as well as a look-ahead to the next day’s games. Bosh will report from Dallas, James will be in Miami, Knight will provide analysis from Memphis and Smith will be behind-the-scenes in East Rutherford, N.J., home of the New Jersey Nets.

Prior to the players taking up their NBA TV microphones, the network will preview the upcoming playoffs when it presents two special one-hour preview shows later this week. On Thursday, April 20, NBA TV’s Rick Kamla, along with regular commentators, Basketball Hall of Famer Gail Goodrich, former NBA player Jim Spanarkel and sports columnist Frank Isola of the New York Daily News, will evaluate the Eastern Conference Playoffs during a special beginning at 7 p.m. ET. The network then will scrutinize the Western Conference Playoff picture when Kamla is joined by NBA TV analysts, former NBA coach Fred Carter and sports columnist Peter Vecsey of the New York Post, on Friday, April 21, at 7 p.m. ET.

Beginning its seventh season of NBA playoff coverage, NBA TV will be the all-access NBA news source, providing pregame and postgame analysis of each NBA playoff game. The network will carry all of the postgame news conferences for all of the playoff contenders live from start to finish. In addition, NBA TV will provide viewers access to the most immediate breaking news and the latest updates from around the league through interviews with players, coaches, league officials and journalists at the various playoff sites.
