May 27 - First off, in case the secret hasn't gotten out yet... If you're finally catching on to the fact that this is a cool game, you hadn't joined yet, and you wish you had earlier, I have good news for you. No, we won't let you sign up and enter your picks for past days. That, my friends, is cheating. What we will let you do, however, is almost as good as cheating.

Am I done asking myself questions? Yes.
With that out of the way, let's get to the pick. If you read my blog yesterday, I'm wondering why you're even bothering to read this. Maybe you like me. Maybe you like my style. The way I dance and shake that thang.
Please stop that. Let's move on.
Rasheed Wallace. The reason is simple: Brad Friedman made me do it.
First, a little background. We entered the Conference Finals with all Pistons and Heat players to choose from, totalling 12 players who average over a 15 PRA. Out West, we had just enough to get us through the Western Conference Finals. After the fifth or sixth player, we were going to have to start digging into the sub-10 PRA players. No one wants that.
So, the logical move would have been to take players from only one team throughout the Eastern Conference Finals, reserving players from the winner for the Finals since we would only have players from that Eastern team to choose from. So, we'd only take Heat players this round, right? The logical underdog.

Will Rasheed reward the Experts' risk?

No, Mr. Friedman throws caution to the wind and picks Tayshaun Prince for Game 1. Prince did well, but it sent us down a path of no return.
Granted, this could be a good path. The Heat won Game 1 and took away home court advantage. The Pistons won Game 2 -- and the Heat did not look good in that game -- but the fact remains that we still have all of the players left on the team with home court.
Not to mention, the overwhelming sentiment is that the Pistons are the favor. While we're taking one approach, the vast majority of the rest of you will be taking the safe route.
Don't conform. Be your own man. Take a risk. Title or bust. Win or go home.
You know, that stuff.
So, I'm starting to appreciate Brad for his pick. If we succeed, we could very well finish in the top 50 of this thing if not higher. We are currently in the 98th percentile. If the Pistons take this series, well, we lose. But the fact of the matter is that we'd get no higher than the 98th percentile if we alternated between Pistons and Heat players throughout this series, thereby handcuffing us for the Finals.
So, thank you, Brad. I am taking Rasheed today because of you. And if we win, you should take a lot of the credit. And if we lose, well, it's all your fault.
By the way, I am saving Chauncey Billups for now. I'd prefer to use him at home. Maybe we go with Ben Wallace for Game 4. Then again, the next expert may think I'm nuts and go with a Heat player. This is the business we've chosen.
