X-Factor: Precision Pays

Martin
Kevin Garnett said Minnesota simplified its offense after losing Sam Cassell in the first 43 seconds. The plan worked, because the Wolves were the model of efficiency in the first half of their 89-71 win over the Lakers. Powered by Latrell Sprewell, Wally Szczerbiak and Darrick Martin, Minnesota made 18 field goals on 15 assists with just three turnovers in the first 24 minutes. Los Angeles made just 12 first-half field goals on just seven assists with six turnovers.
