X-Factor: Scalding Scalabrine
Scalabrine
The Nets certainly appreciate Brian Scalabrine chipping in here and there, but the reserve forward came up huge Friday, scoring a career-high 17 points on 6-of-7 from the field in a 127-120 victory over Detroit in triple overtime. Scalabrine's importance grew as players were lost to fouls -- four Nets in all -- and he responded with nine points in the extra sessions. His fourth trey in four attempts with 41.5 seconds left in the third OT put New Jersey up 122-118 and on the way to victory.
