"I've progressively gotten better in this series," Nets forward Richard Jefferson said after New Jersey picked up its first win of the East semifinals, 82-64 over Detroit in Game 3. Jefferson sputtered in the series opener, scoring eight points on 1-for-12 shooting. He improved his output to 19 points in Game 2, then scored 30 on torrid 11-for-19 shooting in Sunday's breakthrough performance.
