Cassell is Colossal
Kevin Garnett is liking his new teammates more than ever. Sam Cassell, who won two rings with the Houston Rockets in the mid-'90s, scored a playoff career-high 40 points in Minnesota's Game 1 victory over Denver. The 33-year-old point guard played 42 minutes, knocked down 16 of his 24 shots -- including 5-of-6 from long-distance -- and added three assists and three boards.
The Miami Heat's rookie guard didn't play like a youngster against New Orleans in the closing seconds of his first playoff game. With 11 ticks on the clock and the contest tied at 79, Wade blazed past Baron Davis and into the lane, where he hit a runner over Jamaal Magloire to give Miami the two-point victory. Wade finished with 21 points, five boards and five assists.
