NEW YORK, April 16 -- As the NBA Playoffs tip off with 16 teams competing for a berth in The Finals and the chance to win the coveted Larry O’Brien championship trophy, the NBA has announced the schedule for its annual awards that highlight the accomplishments of players and coaches during the regular season.

"Awards Week" tips off with the Citizenship Award presented by the Professional Basketball Writers Association and will also include the announcement of the highly anticipated got milk? Rookie of the Year Award. The Most Valuable Player Award will be announced during the second round of the NBA Playoffs.
