In his first NBA season averaged 4.1 points, 2.0 rebounds, 0.8 assists, .411 FG in 11.6 minutes in 49 games (four starts)... In first NBA start set career highs with 17 points (6-11 FG, 1-4 3FG, 4-4 FT), nine rebounds in 29 minutes vs. Dallas on Nov. 26, but left game in the fourth quarter with a broken right wrist after Mavericks center Danny Fortson committed a flagrant foul, penalty two on his dunk attempt... Averaged 10.2 points on .568 shooting (21-37 FG) in previous five games before going on injured list on Nov. 28 and missed 22 games... Selected by Phoenix with the 17th overall pick in 2003 NBA Draft, ending the Suns' string of six-consecutive early entry picks... Was one of a record 21 international players taken in the draft, along with Suns rookie guard Leandro Barbosa (Brazil)... Played five seasons overseas in Yugoslavia with Beopetrol (1998-01) and Euroleague club Buducnost (2001-03)... In 2002-03, averaged career-best 14.6 points, 4.7 rebounds and shot .686 from the field in 19 games in the YUBA League, and exploded for 30 points against Vojvodina... Was a member of the gold-medal winning Yugoslavian team at the 2002 World Championship in Indianapolis... Although he was the 12th man on a deep squad and the team's youngest player, saw action in five of nine games, totaling eight points, five rebounds and one blocked shot in 16 minutes... In his first season for Buducnost in 2001-02, contributed as a reserve, averaging 9.4 points and 4.1 rebounds...
