Full name is Willie James Green…attended Cooley High School in Detroit, Mich., where he was coached by his uncle, Gary Green, who played basketball at Eastern Michigan (1977-79)…enjoys bowling in his free time…wears size 14 basketball sneaker…has twice hosted a book drive to benefit Philadelphia READS in conjunction with “Drive for Kids” for the last two seasons…in March 2004, hosted “Rook for Books”…during March 2005, helped promote literacy through “Willie's Book Drive”…as part of Willie Green’s Back to School Night (3/19/05 vs. CHI), fans donated 952 books to Willie’s Book Drive and Green hosted a meet-and-greet following the game…this past summer, participated in the NBA’s Basketball without Borders in Africa. |
