Background

DRAFTED: Selected by Minnesota with the 28th overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft.

HOW ACQUIRED: The Cleveland Cavaliers acquired Ellington along with forward/center Marreese Speights, guard Josh Selby and a future first round draft pick from the Memphis Grizzlies in exchange for forward Jon Leuer on January 22, 2013.

2011-12 SEASON: Completed his third professional season averaging 6.1 points, 1.9 rebounds and 0.6 assists on .404 shooting in a career-high 19.1 minutes in 51 games (four starts) for the Minnesota Timberwolves… Shot .324 from three-point range… Scored 10-plus points 16 times, including a season-high 17 points on March 25, 2012 vs. Denver and April 4, 2012 vs. Golden State… Also hauled in a career-high tying seven rebounds on April 4, 2012 vs. Golden State… DNP (Coach’s Decision) 13 times… Missed two games from April 11-12, 2012 due to back spasms.
