HOW ACQUIRED/DRAFT BACKGROUND: Selected by Portland in the first round (22nd pick overall) of the 2009 NBA Draft.

2012-13: In his first season in the NBA, posted averages of 3.8 points, 2.4 rebounds, 0.9 assists, 0.53 steals and 16.6 minutes in 49 games (16 starts) … In games which he started, averaged 4.9 points, 0.88 steals and 23.8 minutes … Scored a career-high 12 points to go along with five rebounds April 1 at Utah … Grabbed a career-best 10 rebounds Feb. 24 vs. Boston … Started the final eight games of the season, as he averaged 6.9 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game … Missed nine games due to a right elbow contusion (Nov. 23-Dec. 8), and also missed nine contests because of a left ankle sprain (March 10-24) … Scored 11 points and recorded six rebounds Feb. 13 at New Orleans … Made a career-best three 3-pointers en route to finishing with 11 points, five rebounds and three assists at the L.A. SPANISH NATIONAL TEAM: A member of the Spanish National Team that earned the Silver Medal at the 2012 Olympic Games in London, Claver averaged 0.6 points, 1.4 rebounds and 4.8 minutes in five appearances … Appeared in seven games for the Spanish National Team and won a second gold medal at the 2011 European Championships in Lithuania (2.0 ppg) … Made his first appearance for the Spanish National Team’s first team in 2009 and made seven appearances during the team’s gold medal run at the European Championships in Poland (2.0 ppg) … Averaged 15.6 points in eight games for the Spanish U-20 National Team en route to a bronze medal at the U-20 European Championships in Latvia in 2008 … Won a bronze medal at the 2007 U-18 European World Championships in Greece, averaging 14.4 points and 6.4 rebounds in eight games.
