COLLEGE:
A tough-nosed player from BYU, Hansen spent the final three
years with the Cougars after starting his career at Utah Valley State College (1996-97)...Jjoined the BYU squad following a two-year LDS mission in Santiago, Chile...Returned to UVSC in 1999-2000 and sat out as a redshirt before transferring to BYU prior to the 2000-01
season...Concluded his career as the 24th all-time leading scorer with 1,137 points
(13.2 points in 86 contests) and was selected to the All-Tournament team at the
2003 Portsmouth Invitational Tourney after averaging 15.7 points and shooting 57.6 percent
of his shots...As a senior (2002-03), he was a consensus first team All-Mountain
West Conference and was named co-Defensive Player of the Year with UNLV's Marcus
Banks (Memphis Grizzlies from Houston first-round selection and 13th overall in the 2003 NBA Draft) after leading the team in scoring (16.8 ppg) and blocked shots and ranking second in rebounding and assists.
