|
Regarded as a superb outside shooter, Trajan Langdon, a 1999 Second-Team All America selection by the Associated Press, was selected with the 11th overall pick in the 1999 NBA Draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers. He played in just 10 games as a rookie, however, due to an injured right knee.
2000-01:

Langdon missed nearly all of his rookie season because of inflammation and bruised cartilage in his right knee the required arthroscopic surgery. He had a similar operation on his left knee while in college ... Placed on the injured list on 1/8 and underwent arthroscopic surgery on 2/2 ... Activated from the injured list on 1/5 after missing 21 games due to bruised cartilage of the right knee ... Scored 12 points (3-5 3 FG) in a 117-112 victory over Milwaukee on 11/13 ... Made his NBA debut, totaling 2 points, 1 rebound and 1 assist, in a 92-84 loss at New York on 11/2.
COLLEGE:
Langdon and fellow Blue Devil Elton Brand (the first overall selection in the 1999 NBA Draft) were the spearheads during Duke's 1999 NCAA Tournament run that fell one win short of a title. In his four years tenure at Duke, Langdon set the school record for three-pointers made (342) and upon graduation ranked ninth in points scored (1,974). He shot an amazing .426 from three-point range, and was equally lethal at the free-throw line where he shot .862. The 6-3 Langdon averaged double-digits in points per game each of his four years, ending his collegiate career averaging 14.5 ppg. A talented baseball player who was selected in the sixth round of the 1994 MLB Draft, he spent three of his four college summers playing in the Class A Northwest League.
