Background



NBA CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:
Originally selected by the Washington Wizards with the 38th overall pick of the 2003 NBA Draft, has spent time with the Wizards, Trail Blazers, Bucks, Nuggets, Clippers and Lakers and has appared in the postseason in six of his previous 10 seasons ... Helped Maryland to its only National Championship as a junior in 2002.

In 55 games (28 starts) with the Lakers and Warriors, averaged 6.9 points, 5.6 assists and 2.9 rebounds in 27.2 minutes ... In 28 games (one start) with Golden State, averaged 4.4 points, 3.6 assists and 2.0 rebounds in 21.7 minutes ... Golden State went 19-9 with Blake in the lineup ... With the Warriors, totaled 102 assists to 31 turnovers in his 28 games with Golden State, a 3.29:1 assist-to-turnover ratio ... When Blake scored at least six points, the Warriors were a perfect 9-0, and when he dished out at least four assists, they went 11-0 ... Earned his first start as a Warrior in the regular season finale on 4/16 at Denver, totaling eight points, a season-high 15 assists, a career-high seven steals and seven rebounds... Steve and wife, Kristin, have three sons, Nicholas, Jameson and Zachary... Majored in criminology and criminal justice at Maryland... Helped Maryland to its only National Championship as a junior in 2002... Attended Miami High School along with the Heat’s Udonis Haslem, winning consecutive state championships... Played prep basketball at national powerhouse Oak Hill Academy at Mouth of Wilson, Va., graduating fourth in his senior class... Is the youngest of four children with three older sisters … Follows the NFL’s Miami Dolphins and the University of Miami football team … Enjoys golfing in his spare time... In 2009-10 and 2010-11, participated in the Hoops for St. Jude program (donation for every point scored).
