Background

2009-10:
After making appearances in each of the season's first 10 games, and in 12 of the first 14, he played in 40 of the last 68…including 12 points in his first appearance at Conseco Fieldhouse in a Pacers' uniform, he scored at least four points in 15 of his first 21 games…in those 21 games, he shot over 51 percent from the floor (.513), hit 18-29 (.621) from the foul line and averaged 4.6 ppg…that stretch featured a season-high 13 points at Chicago, 12/29, where he shot 6-9 FGS and 1-2 FTS…in his remaining 31 appearances, he shot 39-100 from the floor (.390)…he scored in double figures a total of four times, including three times in a span of eight games from 12/29 to 1/11…following his 10 points vs. Toronto, 1/11, he scored more than six points just two times in his last 25 appearances, recording nine at Milwaukee, 3/14, and seven at Atlanta, 3/28…in that game against the Hawks, he added seven rebounds and that was his only game with more than four boards in his final 25 appearances…for the season, he averaged a career-best 2.8 rpg…he gathered at least four rebounds 14 times, but just five times in his final 25 outings…including a season-high tying four offensive rebounds, he came off the bench vs. Toronto, 1/11, to claim a season-high nine boards…that was his second game with nine boards in 2009-10…he also had nine rebounds vs. Golden State, 11/11…through the first eight days of January, he had shot just 18-29 (.621) from the foul line…however, over his last 27 appearances, he shot nearly 79 percent from the line, hitting 33-42 FTS…after scoring his only point of the game vs. Washington, 3/24, on 1-4 FTS, he connected on 11 of his last 12 free throws and ended the season with a string of 10 successful free throws...despite sitting out 30 games due to coaching decisions, and averaging just 13.0 mpg in the games he did play, he was fifth on the team with 37 blocked shots…37 blocked shots was his most since rejecting 42 in 58 games during his rookie season (2006-07)…he blocked a season-high three shots early in the season at New York, 11/4, and that was one of his three games with multiple blocks in the season's first four…in all, he rejected more than one shot nine times…he handed out 32 assists for the Pacers, which was six more than he had totaled in his three seasons with Atlanta…in the Pacers' win at New Jersey, 1/15, he tied a career-high with four assists…that was his only game with more than two assists and he had multiple assists seven times…after the game with the Nets, he had multiple assists once in his last 29 games, passing out two against the Hawks, 3/28…he grabbed a career-high 14 steals in 2009-10 and recorded more than one in a game for the first time in four NBA seasons with two against the Orlando Magic, 1/5…he was one of five Indiana players that did not miss a game due to injury or illness and was one of just four that was in uniform for all 82 games.

Backup big man played his role well in 63 games this season, after appearing in just 35 a year ago • Finished the year averaging 3.0 ppg, 2.3 rpg and 0.5 bpg in 10.7 mpg (.604 FG%, .500 3FG%, .716 FT%) • Recorded eight multi-block games, including a career high-tying 5 rejections @Wash (11/29) • Also tied a career-high with 10 boards, while scoring 5 pts and blocking 2 shots @OKC (11/9) • Hit his first career three-pointer v/OKC (12/23) • Scored a season-best 12 pts and grabbed 8 rebs @Orl (1/9), hitting 4-4 FGs and 4-6 FTs • Equaled the 12 pts and 5 boards v/Phoe (1/25) • Saw a season-best 30 mins of action v/Mia (4/14), finishing with 4 pts, 5 rebs, 3 blks, 1 asst and 1 stl • Shot better than 50% from the field the first five months of the season - Nov. (.553), Dec. (.714), Jan. (.676), Feb. (.667) and Mar. (.600) • Notched career-highs in games (63) and minutes played (675).
