Named to the NBA’s All Defensive First Team (trailed only LeBron James in the most points garnered for the award). Set an all-time franchise record with 3.65 blocks per game (most blocks per game recorded in the NBA in more than a decade). Became the first player in franchise history to record a triple-double which included blocked shots, with 14 points, 15 rebounds and 11 blocked shots vs. Denver (2/19). His 11 blocks in the game is an all-time franchise record. Set a career-high with 20 rebounds vs. Phoenix (3/7). Set a then career-high and later matched an all-time franchise record by registering 10 blocked shots during OKC win at Dallas (2/1) and then again at Sacramento (2/9). Oklahoma City went 31-12 when Ibaka blocked three-plus shots. Scored in double figures on 28 occasions including one effort of 20 points. Recorded 10 or more rebounds 17 times. Registered 10-plus blocks three times while recording 12 double- doubles and one triple-double.

2010-11: Led the NBA with 198 blocked shots and ranked third in blocks per game (3.2). Posted four or more blocked shots 18 times this season and the Thunder registered a 16-2 record in those games. Ranked 8th in the NBA with 54.3% field goal shooting percentage. Matched a career-high with 8 blocked shots at Washington (3/14) and recorded a total of 15 blocks at Cleveland (3/13) and at Washington (3/14) which represents the most blocks in franchise history during a two game span since Alton Lister blocked 16 shots in back-to-back games during the 1988-89 season. Participated in the Sprite Slam Dunk Contest during All-Star weekend in Los Angeles. Recorded at least a single blocked shot in 26 consecutive games from {12/21 – 2/15 (longest streak in the NBA at the time)}. Thunder went 32-12 with Ibaka in the starting lineup. Scored in double figures 42 times this season after scoring 10+ 18 times during all of the 2009-10 season. Appeared in 43 career postseason contests (37 starts) and posted averages of 9.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.9 blocks in 28.2 minutes per game. 2012: Set a playoff career-high with 26 points on perfect 11-of-11 shooting in Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals vs. San Antonio. Only Larry McNeil made more consecutive shots during a postseason game in NBA history (12- 12 FGs 4/13/75; KCO vs. CHI). Recorded a then playoff career-high 22 points to go along with six rebounds and five blocked shots in 39 minutes during Game 1 in the First Round versus Dallas. Scored in double figures eight times and recorded a double-double in Game 3 of the First Round at Dallas with a game-high 11 rebounds and 10 points. 2011: Registered five double-doubles in the 2011 playoffs. Set a playoff franchise record with nine blocked shots in Game 5 of the first round vs. Denver. Matched a career-high with 22 points to go along with a career-high 16 rebounds during Game 3 vs. Denver only to set a playoff career-high with 12 defensive rebounds in Game 4 vs. Denver. INTERNATIONAL HIGHLIGHTS
2012: Won a silver medal in the 2012 Olympics as a member of the Spanish Nation Team. During Olympic play, Ibaka appeared in eight games and averaged 8.0 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.25 blocks in 15.1 minutes. 2008-09: Spent the season playing professionally in Spain for Ricoh Manresa. In 31 games, averaged 7.1 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.0 blocks in 15.5 minutes per contest. 2007-08: Averaged 11.3 points, 8.2 rebounds and 3.0 blocked shots through 32 games for C.B. L’Hospitalet in the Spanish LEB Gold league. Posted 27 points and 11 rebounds vs. Alicante Costa Blanca. Tallied 14 points and 15 rebounds vs. Basket Cai Zaragoza. Registered 10 points, 12 rebounds and seven blocked shots vs. Ciudad de La Laguna Canarias. 2006-07: Averaged 13.3 points, 9.0 rebounds and 1.8 blocked shots in four games with DKV Joventut in the Final Phase of the Circuito Sub-20.

PERSONAL
Parents both played basketball for the National Team in the Congo. Has 17 siblings. Lived with his grandmother during the civil unrest in the Congo in the mid-to-late ‘90s in a house with no electricity or running water. Learned the game of basketball playing on outdoor courts wearing shoes with cardboard inserts to cover the holes in the soles. Made donations to the Congolese federation to help create opportunities for other young players to find success.
