1995-1996:
Rooks provided frontcourt depth for Atlanta after joining the team on Feb. 22 along with Christian Laettner in the trade that sent Andrew Lang and Spud Webb to Minnesota...He appeared in 16 games for the Hawks and averaged 5.8 points and 3.2 rebounds in 13.4 rebounds per game, shooting .552 from the field...His best game for the Hawks came on March 16 when he had 12 points and nine rebounds at San Antonio...He played in all 10 playoff games, contributing 4.5 points and 2.7 rebounds in 14.0 minutes per game and shooting .571 from the floor...He had 10 points in Game 5 of the first round series with Indiana and eight points and four rebounds in Game 2 of the Conference Semifinals against Orlando... Prior to the 1994-95 season the Dallas Mavericks traded Rooks to the Minnesota Timberwolves for a conditional first-round pick in 1996...He bounced back from an injury-plagued 1993-94 campaign to become Minnesota's main man in the middle...Playing in 80 games, he set new career highs in minutes (2,405) and free-throw percentage (.761)...He got the starting nod 70 times, sharing time in the pivot with Stacey King and Greg Foster...Rooks was particularly effective late in the season, when the Wolves sought to achieve some stability in their frontcourt...Following the All-Star break, Minnesota went 7-9 when Rooks played 30 or more minutes, and just 3-13 when he played less than 30 minutes...He had some big road games down the stretch, averaging 12.6 points in his final 13 appearances away from home...In his last 24 road games Rooks shot .510 from the floor...In one of those outings, against the Sacramento Kings on March 1, he collected a career-high 28 points and a season-best 13 rebounds...For the year, he recorded 9 double-doubles in points and rebounds...

1993-1994:
Rooks's second year in the NBA got off to a slow start when he missed all but one preseason game and the first six games of the regular season after suffering a stress fracture in his left foot on the third day of training camp... Then his season came to a grinding halt when he severely sprained his left ankle and suffered a fractured metatarsel of the left foot on January 26 in a game against the 76ers in Philadelphia...He spent the next two months on the injured list...All told, Rooks appeared in only 47 games and averaged 11.4 points and 5.5 rebounds...In 18 starts before the second injury, Rooks averaged 14.1 points and 5.8 rebounds on .511 shooting from the field...He was voted the Mavericks' Player of the Month in December after contributing 12.9 points and 5.5 rebounds per game...On December 23 Rooks tied a career high when he banged in 26 points on 12-of-21 shooting from the field against the Minnesota Timberwolves...

1992-1993:
Not only was Sean Rooks one of two Dallas rookies (along with Walter Bond) in the opening-night starting lineup for the first time since Sam Perkins' rookie season in 1984, but Rooks also banged home 20 points against the Utah Jazz, breaking Mark Aguirre's opening-night rookie record of 19 set on October 30, 1981...And things only got better...Rooks's 68 starts broke the club rookie record shared by Jay Vincent and Elston Turner in 1981-82...Despite being the 30th pick in the 1992 NBA Draft, Rooks ranked 12th among NBA rookies in scoring (13.5 ppg), sixth in rebounding (7.4 rpg), and 10th in field-goal percentage (.493)...His season-high 18 rebounds against the Los Angeles Lakers on April 14 were the most by a Dallas rookie since Roy Tarpley's 18 at Utah on April 8, 1987...Rooks totaled 81 blocks to become the first rookie to lead the club in that category...He scored 20 or more points 12 times, including a season-high 26 against the Indiana Pacers on February 5...

COLLEGE:
Rooks was a member of some powerhouse teams at the University of Arizona, where he was a three-year starter at Arizona, where his teammates included Sean Elliott, Jud Buechler, Brian Williams, Chris Mills and Khalid Reeves...As a senior, Rooks made the All-Pac-10 First Team and was an honorable mention All-American...That year he paced the Wildcats in scoring (16.3 ppg) and powered the squad to its eighth straight NCAA Tournament appearance...
