2005-06
In his 32 starts, the Pacers were 17-15 and he averaged 4.1 ppg and 5.4 rpg as a starter. Off the bench at Washington, 1/31, he had a team-high 12 rebounds, his most ever with the Pacers…that was the first of a four-game stretch in which he had double-digit rebounds three times and it was the first of his four games this season with 10+ boards. Including a season-high six offensive rebounds, he snared a game-high and season-best 16 rebounds in a start vs. Portland, 2/8. He also had six offensive rebounds and grabbed 11 total rebounds at Detroit, 2/23. He had at least three rebounds in 32 of his 36 appearances with at least 10 minutes. He scored a season-high nine points three times: vs. Golden State, 2/10; vs. San Antonio, 2/12; vs. New Orleans/Oklahoma City, 3/10. In the game vs. the Hornets, 3/10, he shot 4-4 from the floor and 1-1 from the foul line…he also had four field goals (4-7) at Denver, 1/4. He had four games in which he attempted at least three shots and was perfect from the field: shooting 3-3 at Charlotte, 11/16; 3-3 at Seattle, 12/4; 4-4 at New Orleans/Oklahoma City and 3-3 at Miami, 3/27. He had his best season at the foul line (in terms of percentage) since his rookie year, shooting 28-36 FTS (.778). In a two-game span, 2/10 & 2/12, he shot 8-10 FTS, including a season-best 5-6 FTS against the Warriors, 2/10…those were the only two games in which he attempted more than three free throws and in his ensuing 22 games, he shot a combined 14-17 FTS. In his six appearances with no days of rest between games, he averaged just 2.8 ppg and 3.5 rpg…with at least a day of rest between games, he averaged 3.9 ppg and 5.1 rpg in 39 outings. In 10 games in February (all starts), he averaged 4.5 ppg, 1.2 apg and 7.4 rpg. Three of his four games with 10+ rebounds occurred in February…In his other 33 appearances, he averaged just 0.33 apg. Including at least one in five of his last seven appearances, he was one of two Pacers' players with more steals (37) than turnovers (26) this season. His 37 steals are his most of the last four seasons, since collecting a career-high 70 for the Kings in 80 games in 2001-02. He had a season-high four steals at Houston, 3/8, his most ever with the Pacers. He had multiple steals nine times and snared at least three thefts three times. He blocked a total of 20 shots this season and had two on four separate occasions.
2004-05
He played in 49 games this season and the Pacers were 30-19 in those games. ... With him in the starting lineup, the Pacers were 11-6. ... In 17 starts, he averaged 5.1 ppg and 5.9 rpg, compared to 3.4 rpg and 3.4 ppg off the bench. However, he shot better as a reserve than as a starter. COLLEGE:
A two-year starter at center, Scot Pollard helped lead the University of Kansas to four straight appearances in the Sweet Sixteen of the NCAA Tournament.
Pollard compiled career averages of 9.4 points, 6.6 rebounds and 1.70 blocks per game, shot better than 50 percent each of his four seasons and had a .549 career field goal percentage. He was named honorable mention All-Big 12 Conference by league coaches and honorable mention All-America by The Associated Press as a senior, when he played in 28 games and averaged 10.3 points, 8.3 rebounds (second on the team) and a team-high 2.61 blocks per game (21st in the nation). Pollard scored in double figures 18 times, pulled down double-digit rebounds nine times and collected eight double-doubles to rank second on the team.
