2002-03:
First NBA Season (Philadelphia)...placed on the injured list on Oct. 28 and
missed the entire 2002-03 season...rehabbing from a left knee injury
suffered in a pre-draft workout with the Phoenix Suns on May 13...had
surgery on May 22 by L.A. Lakers team physician, Dr. Steven Lombardo, to
repair a left patella dislocation...selected by the Sixers in the second
round (45th pick overall) of the 2002 NBA Draft.
COLLEGE:
Finished USC career as the Trojan's all-time leader in
blocked shots (195)...started 102 of 113 games and finished third at USC
in points (1,657), second in rebounding (839) and fifth in steals
(134)...named Second Team All-America by The Associated Press as a
senior...originally an early entry candidate for the 2001 NBA Draft before
withdrawing his name from consideration prior to the draft...competed at
the 2001 NBA Pre-Draft Camp, leading all players in scoring (14 ppg) and
rebounding (9.3 rpg) while shooting 55.2 percent from the field...posted
35 career double-doubles and was one of only 12 Trojans to score at least
30 points in a game three times...as a senior, named Pac-10 Player of the
Year, FOXSports.com All-America First Team, USBWA and Basketball Times
All-America Second Team, NABC All-America Third Team and Naismith Award
Finalist...in 2001-02, led USC in scoring (19.1 ppg), rebounding (9.4 rpg,
30th in nation), field goal percentage (.494), blocks (1.5 bpg) and was
second in steals (1.8 spg)...as a junior, led USC in scoring (17.3 ppg),
rebounding (7.5 rpg) and field goal percentage (50.1 percent)...also led
team in blocks with 81 (2.38 bpg), setting a single-season school
record...his 588 points were the fifth-most in school history for a single
season...earned East Regional All-Tournament honors as he led USC in
scoring (18.0 ppg), rebounding (10.8 rpg) and blocks (4.0 bpg) in the
Trojans' four NCAA Tournament games...averaged 15.5 points and 6.9
rebounds as a sophomore, but was sidelined for 10 games with a broken
right foot suffered against Arizona State on Jan. 20...at the time of the
injury, was averaging team highs in points (17.6 ppg), rebounds (7.8 rpg)
and blocks (1.6 bpg)...as a freshman, started 22 of 27 games and averaged
5.5 points and 5.3 rebounds...finished second in the Pac-10 in blocked
shots (1.4 bpg) and was USC's third-leading rebounder.
