In the NBA
Averaged 8.4 points, 7.2 rebounds and 3.6 assists with Houston at the 2012 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas … recorded 11 points (4-6 FG), 10 boards and seven assists in a 113-91 win over Sacramento (7/16/12) … added 12 rebounds and a game-high eight assists in a 99-88 victory over Portland (7/17/12).


In College
Was the only player in the country in 2011-12 to lead his team in scoring (13.4 ppg), rebounding (9.3 rpg), assists (5.0 apg), steals (1.2 spg) and blocks (0.9 bpg) during his lone season at Iowa State … became just the second player in school history to top the team in scoring, rebounding and assists in one season … his sophomore year with the Cyclones was highlighted by AP Honorable Mention All-America honors, All-Big 12 First-Team accolades, selection to the Big 12 All-Rookie Team and being named Big 12 Newcomer of the Year … earned Big 12 Rookie of the Week honors three times in 2011-12 … he was previously enrolled at Minnesota, but left the team in Dec. 2009 before playing in any contests of his freshman year.

Born Royce Alexander White on April 10, 1991, in Minneapolis, Minnesota … son of Rebecca White and Keiven Tucker … has son, Royce II … got the nickname “Lion” from his favorite Bible verse Proverbs 30:30, “The lion, which is mightiest among beasts, and turneth not away for any” … also chose his jersey #30 from the same verse … among his many interests, enjoys photography, writing and politics … is also an avid reader … can play the piano … draws inspiration from the John Lennon song Imagine, “You may say that I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one” … favorite athlete growing up was Michael Jordan … his uncle is Baseball Hall-of-Famer Dave Winfield … list baseball as his second-best sport after basketball … was named Minnesota’s Mr. Basketball in 2009 after leading his Hopkins High School team to an undefeated 31-0 mark and a Class 4A State Championship … earned First-Team All-State honors at Hopkins … champions the cause for those who suffer from anxiety … has done work with NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, which is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness … volunteered at Orchard Place in Des Moines, IA, where its mission is to develop strong futures for children and youth with mental health and behavioral challenges.
