SUMMER LEAGUE:
Appeared in five games (no starts) for the Miami HEAT in the 2006 Pepsi Pro Summer League and averaged 7.0 points (.450 FG%, .800 FT%), 1.6 rebounds, 0.6 assists and 24.0 minutes…led the team in three-point field goals made (5) and attempted (11), while shooting a team-best 44 percent from three-point territory…had two double-figure scoring outputs.

COLLEGE:
Played four seasons at the University of Miami…appeared in 121 games (109 starts) for the Hurricanes and averaged 14.2 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.50 steals, 1.5 assists and 29.5 minutes while shooting 44.2 percent from the floor, 38.4 percent from three-point range and 84.8 percent from the foul line…was a first-team All-District 6 selection by the NABC and a third-team All-ACC selection…finished fifth on Miami’s career scoring list with 1,717 points, fourth in steals with 187 and third in three-point field goals made with 228…his career 84.9 percentage from the free throw line ranks second in school history while his 38.4 shooting percentage from three-point range ranks third all-time…started in 109 career games ranking second on Miami’s all-time list…as a senior in 2005-06 he started in all 34 games he played and averaged 16.4 points, 5.8 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.47 steals…led UM in steals and ranked second in scoring and rebounding in his final season…recorded a University of Miami single-season record connecting on 85 three-point field goals…led UM in dunks (24) in 2005-06…his 5.8 rebounds per game ranked second in the ACC among players under 6-5…as a junior in 2004-05 he was an Honorable-Mention All-ACC selection…appeared in all 29 games (28 starts) and his junior season and averaged 17.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 1.55 steals…scored in double figures 26 times…was named ACC Player of the Week on Dec. 13th…as a sophomore in 2003-04, he appeared in all 30 games (29 starts) while averaging 15.2 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.03 steals…led the team in dunks (29) and ranked second in scoring…was named Big East Player of the Week on Dec. 29th…named to the All-Tournament team at the 2003 Las Vegas Tourney…as a freshman in 2002-03, he appeared in all 28 games (18 starts) and averaged 7.3 points, 3.6 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.11 steals…ranked third on team in scoring…became the first University of Miami player since 1992 to open the season with four consecutive double-figure scoring games…scored in double-figures on 10 occasions.

Full name is Robert J. Hite, II…is the son of Robert Hite and Linda Young…has two brothers, Jelani Young and Joshua Hite, and two sisters, Alicia and Ashley Hite…got his nickname “Flight” during his freshman year in high school because his friends said he looked like he was flying when he jumped…graduated from the University of Miami with a degree in business management…he chose that field of study because he wanted to learn how to manage money and learn the in-and-outs of the business world…wants to pick up golf as a hobby…considers his family and friends as his most prized possessions…after his basketball career is done, he wants to start a career in real estate and continuing helping and working with children…says football is his favorite sport other than basketball and lists the Miami Hurricanes as his favorite football team…his favorite restaurant is Texas Roadhouse…lists Martin, The Jamie Foxx Show, Law & Order and The Dave Chappelle Show as his favorite TV shows…does not have a favorite movie but enjoys comedies…listens to gospel and R&B and lists Ne-Yo, Jamie Foxx and Lil Wayne as his favorite artists…says his parents were the people who made a difference in his life because they always supported him and stuck by his side unconditionally while also providing what was needed for him to be involved in sports…claims to make the best grill cheese sandwichs…says Jamaica was the best place he has visited because he loves the people and the scenery is beautiful…chose South America as the place he would most like to visit…has six tattoos; among them are a grim reaper tearing a basketball on his right arm that says “Till Death Do Us Part”; praying hands with an inscription “The Lord is My Shepherd” on his left arm; two on his chest that say, “Laugh Now, Cry Later” and “Win Some, Lose Some”; and one on his back that says “FLIGHT”…his favorite food is macaroni and cheese…wears a size 12 shoe.
