  • Participated in the NBA’s Basketball Without Borders in South Africa during summer of 2006
  • While in Africa, Butler met a young man living in poverty, Jerome Duplooy, who was also a huge basketball fan
  • Butler flew Duplooy to the US during the holidays to take in NBA games and held a Health and Wellness drive on the 1/20/07 game to aid the Soweto Kliptown Youth Organization in Johannesburg (over 2,000 pounds of items were donated)
  • Was a communications major at LaSalle
