COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT: Was recognized
by his home state of New Jersey in 2010
with a Governor’s Jefferson Award for doing
“extraordinary things for other people” in his
community…started the Randy Foye
Foundation to help improve the quality of life
for children in his hometown of Newark, N.J.,
and hosted a “Night for Newark” gala to
launch his fundraising efforts…through his
foundation, contributed to earthquake relief
efforts in Haiti in January 2010…adopted a
Washington, DC family during the 2009 holiday
season and provided them with $2,500
for a holiday shopping spree…
PERSONAL: Has two daughters, Paige Christine Foye and newborn Penelope Carter Foye…traveled to China in September 2009 along with Bullets great Wes Unseld and a contingent of Wizards front office members to commemorate the 30-year anniversary of Washington’s historic trip to China in 1979… selected as the 2002 New Jersey Player of the Year as a senior at Newark’s East Side High School after averaging 22.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 6.0 assists per game. |
