Reunited with former teammate Steve Nash (2002-03 with Dallas), Bell had a career year in 2005-06 and developed into one of the league’s top three-point shooters... In his sixth NBA season and first with Phoenix, averaged 14.7 points, 3.2 rebounds, 2.6 assists in 37.5 minutes (30th in the NBA), all career highs, in 79 games played (all starts).... Ranked third in the NBA in three-point field goals made (197) and tied for fourth in three-point field goal percentage (.442), both career highs.... In the playoffs, scored in double figures 11 times, 20-plus points five times, 30-plus points once, including a playoff career high 33 points in Game 4 of the conference semifinals at L.A. Clippers on May 14, which were his most points scored in any NBA game – playoff and regular season… His previous high was 31 points, set vs. Seattle in a double-overtime loss on Jan. 22, 2006… In that game, made a playoff career-high seven 3-pointers on 12 attempts… Scored 22 points in 125-118 double-overtime victory in Game 5 of the conference semifinals on May 16, including a game-tying 3-pointer with 1.1 seconds left in the first overtime that forced a second overtime… Issued a flagrant two foul in Game 5 vs. Lakers on May 2 and was handed a one-game suspension by the NBA for Game 6 on May 4… Phoenix was 0-3 in the regular season when Bell did not play before the Suns defeated the Lakers in overtime in Game 6 on May 4… Connected on a playoff career-high seven three-point field goals in Game 4 at L.A.
