- Won the 1986-87 Frances Pomeroy Naismith Award as the nation's top college player under six feet tall

Armstrong on 11/7/97....Signed as a free agent by the Toronto Raptors on 9/23/99....Traded by the Raptors with Mark Jackson to the New York Knicks for Chris Childs and a 2001 first-round draft pick on 2/22/01....Traded by the Knicks to the Dallas Mavericks for Howard Eisley in a three-team deal in which the Knicks also received Shandon Anderson from the Houston Rockets, and the Rockets received Glen Rice from the New York Knicks and the draft rights to Kyle Hill from the Mavericks on 8/10/01.
