HOW MIKE BECAME A HAWK: Selected by the Hawks in the second round (43rd overall) of the 2012 NBA Draft ... Signed to a contract on September 6, 2012.

2012 SUMMER LEAGUE: Averaged 10.0 ppg and 6.8 rpg in 27.3 mpg (.362 FG%, .696 FT%), starting all five contests for the Hawks at the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas.

COLLEGIATE CAREER: A five-year player at Virginia, he earned First Team All-ACC honors as a senior, when he averaged 18.0 ppg, 8.3 rpg and 1.2 apg (.563 FG%, .808 FT%)... Hit double-figures in 29 of 32 games... Led the team in scoring and rebounding... Finished third in school history in rebounds (944) and double-doubles (34), while ranking 16th in points (1,538)... Also led the Cavs in scoring (15.9 ppg) and rebounding (10.2 rpg) as a junior, but played in just 10 games due to injury, and received a medical redshirt for the season... In his true junior campaign (2009-10), put in 12.0 ppg and 7.2 rpg... Led the team in rebounding as a sophomore (7.4 rpg) in 2008-09, also scoring 10.3 ppg... As a freshman in 2007-08, tallied 5.7 ppg and 5.3 rpg in 18.1 mpg (.441 FG%, .703 FT%).
