In 2002-03 played briefly for Real Madrid (Spain), then was sent on loan to Universidad Complutense of LEB1, one of the highest minor leagues in Spain, in order to receive more playing time... In 17 games for Universidad Complutense, averaged 18.6 points and 7.5 rebounds, shooting .555 from the field (95-171 FGA)... Went 23-52 (.442) from three-point range.

Acquired from New York on Jan. 5 along with Antonio McDyess, Howard Eisley, Charlie Ward, the draft rights to Milos Vujanic, two first-round draft picks and cash in exchange for Stephon Marbury, Anfernee Hardaway and Cezary Trybanski... As a rookie averaged 4.6 points and 2.1 rebounds in 10.7 minutes in 21 games, all with Phoenix... Became youngest player in franchise history to appear in a regular season game (18 years, 11 months, previous Amare Stoudemire, 19 years, 11 months)... Was the second-youngest player in the NBA (Detroit rookie Darko Milicic) in 2003-04... Scored 10-plus points three times... Posted season highs in points (17) and rebounds (7) vs. Milwaukee on March 20... Also scored in double figures with 12 points and six rebounds in career-high 29 minutes at San Antonio on March 27...
