COLLEGE:
Van Horn was a consensus All-America as a senior, receiving First Team recognition from the Associated Press, National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC), United States Basketball Writers Association (USBWA), the Sporting News and Basketball Weekly. He also was a member of the 10-man John Wooden All-America Team and was the USBWA and NABC District Player of the Year for the third straight season. Van Horn was the Western Athletic Conference Player of the Year in each of his final three seasons, the first three-time winner ever, and made the All-WAC First Team all four years. He finished his career as the leading scorer in Utah and WAC history with 2,542 points and finished second in rebounding (behind Bill McGill) with 1,074 boards. He recorded 50 point-rebound double-doubles in his four-year career.
