Selected by the Hawks in the first round (23rd overall) of the 2012 NBA Draft, Jenkins was an early-entry candidate.

Led the Southeastern Conference in scoring the last two years, and was named a two-time First Team All-SEC performer... For his career, put in 16.9 ppg, 2.7 apg and 1.1 rpg in 30.6 mpg (.468 FG%, .438 3FG%, .855 FT%)... Second on Vanderbilt's career-list in three-pointers made (306) and third-best in percentage (.438)...
