Fifth NBA season (Toronto)… Appeared in all but one game with seven starts, averaging 7.2 points and 1.5 rebounds in 18.9 minutes per game… Shot 48.8% from the floor, 48.3% from 3-point range and 86.0% from the line… Led the NBA in 3-point shooting… Successfully defended his Foot Locker Three-Point Shootout title during All-Star Weekend in New Orleans (2/16), setting a final round record with 25… Scored 17 of his career-high 29 points in the fourth quarter vs. Indiana (12/14) while shooting 6-of-7 from behind-the-arc.


2006-07:
Fourth NBA season (Miami)… In 67 games with 35 starts, averaged career-highs of 10.9 points and 2.7 rebounds along with 1.2 assists in 26.4 minutes per game… Posted career-highs in all three shooting categories: 49.4% FGs, 51.4% 3FGs, 89.2% FTs… Led the NBA in 3-point percentage while posting the fifth-highest percentage for a single season in league history… Won the Foot Locker Three-Point Shootout at All-Star Weekend in Las Vegas (2/18)… As a starter, averaged 13.3 points and 3.4 rebounds in 31.8 minutes per game… Missed 14 games with a sprained left ankle from 3/7-4/1… Scored a season-high 28 points at Milwaukee on 2/3 while knocking down six 3-pointers.


2005-06:
Third NBA season (Miami)… In 51 games with two starts, averaged 4.1 points and 1.4 rebounds in 13.0 minutes per game… Shot 44.6% from the floor, 39.6% from 3-point range and 84.8% from the line… Missed one game due to personal reasons (2/22 at New York), was a healthy scratch on the inactive list 11 times and was a DNP-CD 18 times.


2004-05:
Second NBA season (Charlotte)… Appeared in all but one game for Charlotte with 14 starts, averaging 8.5 points and 2.0 rebounds in 18.4 minutes per game… Shot 40.1% from the floor, 41.2% from 3-point range and 82.4% from the line… Ranked 13th in the NBA in 3-point percentage… As a starter, averaged 10.1 points and 3.2 rebounds in 24.0 minutes per game… Scored a season-high 25 points at Detroit on 11/21.


2003-04:

COLLEGE CAREER:
Saw action in 127 games (126 starts) during his four-year career at UCLA, averaging 16.5 points, 5.1 rebounds and 2.1 assists… Finished his college career ranked third on UCLA’s all-time scoring list with 2,095 points, behind only Don MacLean (2,608) and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (2,235)… First Bruin to earn First Team All Pac-10 honors all four years and first player in school history to lead team in scoring in four straight seasons… Scored a career-high 44 points in a win at Washington State… Selected as the National Freshman of the Year… Became only the second true freshman in school history to start every game, joining Earl Watson.

Full name is Jason Alan Kapono…married his wife Ashley on Aug. 28, 2004…is the son of Joe and Toni Kapono…has one sister (Jillian)…his father-in-law Tony Cline Sr. played football at the University of Miami and with the NFL’s Oakland Raiders…his brother-in-law Tony Cline Jr. played football at Stanford University and with the Buffalo Bills and San Francisco 49ers of the NFL…his brother-in-law Darren Cline played football at UCLA…graduated from UCLA with a degree in history…chose his major because he was interested in the past and why things happened…would like to be involved helping children’s hospitals and elderly communities…when his basketball career is done he would like to involve himself in real estate or be a golf pro…says something that most people don’t know about him is that some of his heritage is Hawaiian…when he is not playing basketball he likes to play golf, read and spend time with family and friends…enjoys football and baseball and lists the Miami Dolphins and Florida Marlins as his favorite teams…chose Friends and CSI as his favorite television shows and Wedding Crashers and Cinderella Man as his favorite movies…lists Cold Play, The Dave Matthews Band, Jay-Z and Kanye West among his favorite musical artists…was a member of the gold medal winning U.S. team at the 2001 FIBA World Championship for Young Men in Japan…as a high school senior, earned All-American Second Team honors by USA Today and third team by SLAM magazine...attended the same high school as former NBA players and UCLA standouts Ed and Charles O’Bannon (Artesia H.S. in CA)…was a college teammate Dan Gadzuric, Jerome Moiso and Matt Barnes who have all played in the NBA…chose sushi as his favorite food and Mastro’s in Beverly Hills, CA as his favorite restaurant…says he can cook anything good on the grill…lists Bali as his dream vacation destination and Manzanillo, Mexico as the best place he has visited because it is unknown…has no tattoos…his gameday rituals include eating at a certain time and taking a nap…wears a size 14 shoe.
