COLLEGE:
Smith departed from Louisiana State University ranking ninth on the Tigers’ all-time career block list with 63…Smith also averaged 12.6 points per game (.532 FG%, .639 FT%), 8.2 rpg, 2.1 apg, and 1.03 bpg in 61 games over a two year NCAA Division I career, in which he posted 12 double-doubles…In 1999-2000, he earned Second Team All-SEC Honors after averaging 12.5 ppg (.553%, .371 3pt%, .595 FT%), 7 rpg, and 2.2 apg as a senior…Ranked 11th in the SEC in rebounding and 15th in scoring… As the senior captain, was one of just two Tiger players to have played and started in all 34 games…In his senior season at LSU he also led his team in scoring six times and rebounding on nine occasions as well as averaging 13.3 ppg and 6.0 rpg in three NCAA tournament games…Scored a season high 26 points and grabbed 12 rebounds against Fresno State (11/28/99)…As a junior (1998-99), averages were 12.7 ppg, a team leading 9.7 rpg (2nd SEC), and 1.9 bpg…The 9.7 rebounding average was the highest by a Tigers player since Geert Hammink averaged an SEC leading 10.2 rpg in 92-93…Led the team in rebounding 20 of 27 games in the 98-99 season… Highlight game as a collegiate player came on 2/10/99 when he grabbed 15 rebounds and scored 30 points…Career-high in rebounds came on 11/16/99 when he pulled down 17 in a match up against Texas Plan American…Played his first two collegiate seasons (1996-98) at Atlanta Metropolitan Junior College averaging 17.5 ppg and 12.5 rpg.
