2001-02:
Averaged 2.4 points and 2.9 rebounds and 13.4 minutes in 49 games, including 24 starts...Averaged 3.4 points, 4.2 rebounds and 19.2 minutes in 24 starts...Missed final four games of the season due to a sprained left foot...In a 2/7 starting assignment vs. San Antonio he recorded his first double-double as a Raptor with season highs of 10 points, 12 rebounds and 40 minutes...In first start of the season 12/19 in his hometown of Indianapolis, he recorded seven points and four rebounds in 29 minutes against the Pacers...Playoffs: Missed postseason action while recovering from a sprained left foot.
2000-01:
Averaged 2.2 ppg and 3.2 rpg while playing 12.0 mpg in 54 games....In 28 games with the Raptors, played in 12 games, posting 1.1 ppg and 2.4 rpg....Made Raptors debut on 2/24/01 at Washington, playing 11 minutes and recording five rebounds and two points....Made only start with Raptors in covering Dikembe Mutombo of the Philadelphia 76ers on 4/3/01, scoring six points and collecting a season-high-tying 11 rebounds in 12 minutes....Scored a season-high 13 points as a member of the Pistons in New Jersey on 11/9/00, recording his only double-double of the season.
1999-2000:
In 51 games, averaged 0.8 ppg, 1.4 rpg and 6.5 mpg, while shooting .309 from the field....Played double-figure minutes eight times....Did not play (coach's decision) 31 times....Equaled his season-high with four points in nine minutes at New York on 4/19/00....Also scored four points vs. Utah on 3/1/00.
1998-99:
Made 46 appearances for the Pistons, all but two as a reserve, and averaged 2.1 ppg and 2.0 rpg in 12.5 mpg....Logged game-highs of 14 rebounds and four blocked shots, and scored six points in a 107-98 win over the Indiana Pacers on 2/7/99.
1997-98:
Placed on the injured list on 2/27/98 and underwent arthroscopic surgery on 3/3/98 to alleviate lateral pain in his right knee....Grabbed a game-high 14 rebounds and added six points in a 115-78 victory over the Detroit Pistons on 12/20/97....Traded by the 76ers with Jerry Stackhouse to the Detroit Pistons for Theo Ratliff, Aaron McKie and future considerations on 12/18/97....Totaled eight points and a game-high 12 rebounds in a 105-95 victory over the L.A. Lakers on 11/28/97.
1996-97:
Montross played in 47 games for Dallas, all but one as a starter, and averaged 3.9 ppg and 5.0 rpg in 20.9 mpgnutes before being traded along with Sam Cassell, Chris Gatling, Jim Jackson and George McCloud to the New Jersey Nets for Shawn Bradley, Ed O'Bannon, Robert Pack and Khalid Reeves on 2/17/97....Started 31 games in the pivot for New Jersey and averaged 5.1 ppg, 9.1 rpg and 1.26 bpg in 27.2 mpg....Had three double-doubles while with the Nets, including 14 points and 15 rebounds in a 109-101 loss at Atlanta on 4/15/97....The next night, in a 113-105 loss to Philadelphia, had six points and a career-high 18 rebounds, 13 of them off the offensive boards....Grabbed double-figure rebounds in 12 of 31 games for New Jersey....Finished the season with averages of 4.3 ppg, 6.6 rpg and 0.94 bpg in 23.4 minutes, playing a total of 78 games, all but one as a starter....After the season, traded by the Nets with Jim Jackson and the draft rights to Tim Thomas and Anthony Parker to the Philadelphia 76ers for Michael Cage, Lucious Harris, Don MacLean and the draft rights to No. 2 overall pick Keith Van Horn.
1995-96:
At season's end, traded to the Dallas Mavericks for a first-round draft pick....Missed five games early in the season due to a strained left calf, then placed on the injured list 3/22/96 due to a severely sprained left ankle...Missed Boston's final 16 games of the season....Started 59 of 61 games played, but averaged just 23.5 mpg compared with 29.7 mpg as a rookie....Scoring average dipped from 10.0 ppg to 7.2 and his rebounding from 7.3 to 5.8 rpg, although he led the team in rebounding 11 times and posted four double-doubles: 14 points and 14 rebounds against Utah on 11/15/95, 19 points and 12 rebounds against Washington on 11/17/95, 15 points and 15 rebounds against the Clippers on 3/6/96 and 16 points and 12 rebounds against New Jersey on 3/17/96....Field-goal percentage of .566 led the Celtics and would have ranked fourth in the NBA if he had played enough to qualify for the leader list....Shot .649 from the field during a nine-game stretch in January.
1994-95:
Came to the Boston Celtics as the ninth overall pick in the draft....Had big shoes to fill after being given the starting center spot that had been occupied by Robert Parish for 14 seasons....Montross acquitted himself well, averaging 10.0 ppg in 29.7 mpg and ranked second on the club with 7.3 rpg....Also led the club in field-goal percentage at .534 and started more games (75) than any other Boston player....Earned spot on the NBA All-Rookie Second Team....Best offensive performance came against the Los Angeles Clippers on 2/17/95 when he played 50 minutes in a double-overtime contest and scored 28 points on 13-for-15 shooting from the field....Grabbed a season-high 16 rebounds on two occasions, the first coming against the Atlanta Hawks on 12/7/94....Played in the Schick Rookie Game at All-Star Weekend and scored six points while collecting four rebounds....The Celtics tiptoed into the playoffs with a 35-47 record and were dispatched in four games by the Orlando Magic....Started all four contests, but did not fare well in his matchup with Shaquille O Neal, averaging 3.3 ppg and 2.3 rpg in 15.5 mpg.
COLLEGE:
Finished his four-year career at North Carolina ranked fourth in blocked shots (169), sixth in rebounds (941), and eighth in field-goal percentage (.585)....As a senior, led the Tar Heels in rebounds (8.1 rpg), while averaging 13.6 ppg and blocking 62 shots....Garnered Second Team All-America honors from The Associated Press....Also named Second Team All-ACC as a senior....A member of the Tar Heels' 1993 NCAA Championship club, averaged 16.8 ppg on .649 shooting in six NCAA tournament games....Scored in double figures in each of his final three seasons, while pulling down at least seven rebounds per game....Teamed with Jerry Stackhouse to win the 1994 ACC Championship.
