    BACKGROUND

    2001-02:
Another player plagued by injuries a year ago, Davis missed a total of 54 games - the final 46 after suffering a fractured right wrist...Strangely enough, he broke the wrist in a January 11 game at Toronto and played the next night at home against Boston before post-game x-rays revealed the broken wrist...Prior to his injury, Davis supplied solid defensive play at the point guard spot and his 6-5 frame was a nice complement to Jason Terry...Got the opportunity to play both guard positions and will enter the upcoming season injury-free...He was also forced to miss eight games (between December 15-29) after taking an elbow from Allen Iverson during a December 11 game against the 76ers...The elbow broke his nose and gave him a concussion that lingered for several days...In 28 games (with 20 starting assignments) last year, Davis finished with 6.6 ppg, 2.6 rpg, 2.4 apg and 1.0 spg (.354 FG%, .341 3FG%, .889 FT%)...His best scoring night came on November 20 when he tallied 16 points against Indiana...Davis' numbers on the road were better than at home - as he tallied 8.1 ppg away from Philips Arena, and only 4.8 ppg at home...SEASON HIGHS: 16 pts @Ind (11/20), 5 rebs (2x), 5 assts v/Port (1/8), 3 stls v/Utah (11/14), 1blk (5x), 40 mins @Tor (1/11), 7 FGM @Ind (11/20), 4 FTM v/Mia (11/3).

    2000-01:
A reserve guard for the Sonics, Davis was the back-up to All-Star Gary Payton ... Saw action in 62 contests (the most in his pro career) and started in 39 games ... While Davis may be recognized for his defensive talents, the 6-5 guard can score if needed ... Averaged a career-high 5.8 points last season, hitting 41.8 percent of his field goal attempts ... Has the ability to knock down the three-pointer as well, shooting .394 percent a year ago ... Davis scored 19 points in a February 1 game against Chicago on 7-of-12 FG attempts ...
