The New York Knicks selected Harvey in the first round (22nd overall) of the 2000 NBA Draft. Shortly thereafter, his draft rights were traded to Dallas along with John Wallace for Erick Strickland and the draft rights to Pete Mickeal where he played sparingly until traded to the Denver Nuggets in February 2002 .

2001-02:
