Averaged 16.3 points and 7.8 rebounds in four games (four starts) with the Rockets during the 2012 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas … earned NBA Summer League 2012 All-Star honors … notched 25 points (11-13 FG, 2-2 3FG) in his Summer League debut against Toronto (7/13/12) … also posted 20 points (10-16 FG) and 12 rebounds (7 offensive) in a 99-88 win over Portland (7/17/12).

They never give up. When they grab a fish or something else, they never let it go. It doesn’t matter. In a book, they write they find a skeleton of [an] eagle and there is no fish. It means that the fish beat him and killed him, but he didn’t let go.”

An early entry candidate, selected by Minnesota in the first round (20th overall) in the 2011 NBA Draft … Houston acquired his draft rights from the Timberwolves along with Jonny Flynn and Minnesota’s 2012 second-round selection in exchange for Brad Miller, the rights to Nikola Mirotic (23rd overall pick), a future first-round pick and cash considerations on June 23, 2011 … signed a multi-year contract with the Rockets on July 6, 2012.
