Full name is Devin Darrell Green…is the son of Robbin Green…has one older brother (DeErik Green), two younger brothers (Raymond and Elijah Maxey) and one younger sister (Ebonee Maxey)…credits his mother, brothers, grandfather (Elmer Smith) and his godparents (George and Angela Maxey) as the people that have really made a difference in his life for their constant support and sacrifice to help him succeed…he is a cousin of Atlanta Hawks Head Coach Mike Woodson…graduated from Hampton University with a degree in sports management…chose his major because he knew that when he was done playing professionally he would like to continue in the field of sports…selected his first NBA jersey as his most prized possession…his favorite player growing up was current teammate Anfernee “Penny” Hardaway…chose football as his favorite sport other than basketball and is a fan of the Cleveland Browns…also is a fan of the Cleveland Indians, Ohio State Buckeyes and Columbus Blue Jackets…when he is done playing he looks forward to relaxing and spending a lot of time with his family…in his spare time he likes to play video games such as Madden NBA Live and Fight Night on his XBox 360, listen to music and find new restaurants to eat in…chose City Hall in Phoenix, AR as his favorite restaurant…his favorite food is fried chicken and his favorite meal is chicken with broccoli and rice…claims he can barbeque real well…lists hip-hop, R&B and jazz as his favorite types of music and Common, Jay-Z, Erykah Badu, Jill Scott and former NBA player Wayman Tisdale among his favorite musical artists…is an avid moviegoer and his favorites include Sunset Park, Blue Chips, Bad Boys, Matrix, Above the Rim, Harlem Nights, Heat, The Wood and Dumb and Dumber…selected The Wire, Martin, Curb Your Enthusiasm and Entourage as his favorite TV shows…lists Nassau, Bahamas as the favorite place he has visited because of the wonderful beaches and great jet skiing…has been very active in charitable functions during his career…participated in the LeBron James Bike-A-Thon in Akron, OH in June of 2006 benefitting the James Family Foundation…was active in several Lakers Read-To-Achieve events, the annual “Lakers Thanksgiving Celebration” in the inner city and prior to the Lakers-Hornets contest on Mar. 8, 2006, in the NBA’s first game back in New Orleans since Hurricane Katrina, he participated in a “Hoops for Homes/Habitat for Humanity project in New Orleans’ hardest hit area, the Lower 9th Ward with teammates and Hornets players…wore number 2 his first two years at Hampton (2001-03) and number 21 his final two seasons (2003-05)…was number 11 with the Lakers…ran cross country and track and field in high school…as a senior at Beechcroft High School, he led the basketball team to an 18-4 record and an appearance in the semifinals of the District State Tournament…says one of the things that most people don’t know about him is that he is left handed although he plays all sports right handed…his game day ritual includes praying and sleeping…has one tattoo that represents and glorifies where he is from…wears a size 14 shoe.
