Full name is Darius Songaila (sun-GUY-la)…son of Ignas and Eugenija Songaila…was the first member of his family to come to the United States…married to wife, Jacquelyn, and has a daughter, Meile…has been a member of his native Lithuania National Team since 1998…helped the Lithuanian National Team to third and fourth place finishes, respectively, in the 2000 and 2004 Olympic Games…with Lithuania, captured the bronze medal at FIBA EuroBasket 2007 and qualified for the 2008 Olympic Games…spent the 2002-03 season playing in Russia…graduated from Wake Forest with a degree in communications…participated in a “Reading Time-Out” in 2008 with a local sixth-grade class that responded to a contest that asked teachers to describe in 100 words or less, “My classroom deserves a ‘Time-Out with the Wizards’ because”…greatest memory in sports was winning a bronze medal in the 2000 Olympic Games…fluent in four languages, including English, Lithuanian, Polish and Russian…hobbies include hunting and fishing…played with CSKA Moscow of the Russian A Superleague and advanced to the 2003 Euroleague Final Four.
