Parks played in 76 games in his first season with Minnesota, where he was used as a reserve at both center and forward. He averaged 3.3 points and 2.6 rebounds in 12.6 minutes. He also averaged 0.54 steals, which projects to a team-high 2.05 steals for 48 minutes. He scored a season-high 14 points in a 94-84 victory at Boston on Jan. 3, one of his four double-figure scoring games. He hauled down a career-high 10 rebounds in a 103-96 loss at Chicago on Dec. 11. He had only 32 turnovers all season, one per 30.0 minutes played. Parks played 11 minutes in one playoff game, getting four points and five rebounds.
1995-1996 REGULAR SEASON
Parks played in 64 games as a rookie with the Mavericks, making three starts, and averaged 3.9 points and 3.4 rebounds in 13.6 minutes per game. He scored a season-high 25 points with seven rebounds in a season-high 31 minutes at Portland on March 17. That was one of seven games in which he scored in double figures. He twice reached double figures in rebounding, with 10 on Nov. 7 against Vancouver and on Feb. 23 against the Lakers. He also had 16 points in that game against the Lakers for his only double-double. After the season, Parks was dealt to Minnesota for the Timberwolves' removing restrictions on a first-round draft pick they had previously sent to Dallas.
