BACKGROUND
|
|
2000-01:
Bowdler's second season was very similar to his rookie campaign ... Didn't get much playing time over the first four and one-half months of the year, but gained increased minutes over the final 17 games of the season ... When given the opportunity, he took advantage of it, scoring 6.0 points and grabbing 3.4 rebounds (.456 FGs, .760 FTs) during that span ... Played just a total of 104 minutes in his first 17 games, and 271 in his final 17 contests ... Tallied double-figure scoring totals on five occasions ... Turned in a nice string of performances over a four-game stretch (March 22 - 29) when he posted 11.8 points and 5.0 rebounds ... On the season, Bowdler totalled 3.2 ppg and 1.8 rpg (.465 FGs, .825 FTs) ... He missed eight games due to injury or illness (Oct. 31 - Nov. 10, right knee sprain and Mar. 9 with the flu) and sat out 30 contests due to coach's decision ... HIGH GAMES: 15 pts (2x), 6 rebs (2x), 3 blks v/Bost (3/27), 2 stls (2x), 1 asst (4x), 6 FGM v/Bost (3/27), 1 3FGM v/SA (3/22), 4 FTM (2x), 34 mins v/Bost (3/27).
1999-2000:
Came on late in the season, as he saw some additional playing time. Showed a good touch from the perimeter, and an ability to run the floor. Averaged 19.1 minutes over the final 12 contests. Over that time, averaged 5.0 ppg and 3.4 rpg. For the season, posted averages of 2.7 ppg and 1.8 rpg (.426 FG, .632 FT). Scored in double figures once.
