Price was expected to step in as Houston's regular point guard after he joined the Rockets as a veteran free agent, but a broken left humerus suffered in a preseason game on Oct. 24 ruined those plans. He did not make his debut until Dec. 28, and just when he seemed to be playing his way back into top form he suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee in a game against the Los Angeles Lakers on Feb. 25. He was placed on the injured list on March 3, underwent surgery on March 15 and sat out the remainder of the regular season and postseason...Price managed to play in 25 games, averaging 6.0 points and 2.6 assists in 15.6 minutes per game. He shot .419 from the field, .321 from three-point range and a perfect 1.000 (21-for-21) from the foul line...Price was on a roll when he got hurt the second time. In the eight games prior to his torn ACL, Price had averaged 10.1 ppg and 4.9 apg while shooting .482 from the field and .462 from behind the arc...That spurt included a season-high 20 points on 8-for-11 shooting, plus a season-high six assists, in a 106-97 win over Vancouver on Feb. 11.
1995-96:
Brent bounced back after missing 1994-95 due to a knee injury and emerged from his brother Mark's shadow in his third pro season, appearing in 81 games for the Bullets, making 50 starts and leading the club with 416 assists and 78 steals...His totals for points, assists, rebounds, three-pointers and free throws were more than his totals in those categories for his first two seasons combined...Price averaged 10.0 points, 5.1 assists, 2.8 rebounds and 0.96 steals in 25.2 minutes per game, shooting .472 from the field, .874 from the free-throw line and .462 (139-for-301) from three-point range...He ranked fifth in the NBA in free throw shooting and sixth in three-point shooting. As a starter he averaged 13.4 points and 6.7 assists in 32.8 minutes per game, shooting .484 from the field and .880 from the free throw line...He had seven points-assists double-doubles and barely missed the feat with nine assists in five other games. He scored a career-high 30 points against Chicago on Jan. 15, grabbed a career-high nine rebounds against Houston on Jan. 25 and twice handed out a season-high 13 assists...Price established an NBA record by sinking 13 consecutive three-point field goal attempts over the course of three games from Jan. 15 to Jan. 19, breaking the mark of 11 shared by Jeff Hornacek and Scott Wedman...Following the season, Price signed as a free agent with the Houston Rockets.
1994-95:
Price missed the entire 1994-95 season because of a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee...Washington waived him on April 19.
1993-94:
Price logged more minutes in his second NBA season, and he responded with improved production in nearly every category. As a backup to both Michael Adams and Rex Chapman in the Washington Bullets backcourt, Price averaged 6.2 points and 3.3 assists in 15.9 minutes per game. He canned 50 of 150 three-point attempts, ranking second on the team in three-point percentage (.333)...Price appeared in 65 games overall and logged 13 starts when Adams was out with injuries. He enjoyed one of his finest outings on April 2 versus the Milwaukee Bucks, when he scored 19 points and dished out 8 assists.
1992-93:
Price was picked by the Washington Bullets in the second round (32nd pick overall of the 1992 NBA Draft...Price averaged 3.9 points and 2.3 assists in 68 games as an NBA rookie. He started nine games at point guard for an injured Michael Adams and averaged 9.4 points and 4.3 assists in those games...Price also led the Bullets in steals 14 times and in assists 6 times.
COLLEGE:
Price started his college career at South Carolina. After two seasons he transferred to Oklahoma, where he distinguished himself as an outstanding shooter and playmaker. He was selected to the All-Big Eight Conference First Team after his senior season in 1991-92, when he averaged 18.7 points and 6.2 assists. He shot .438 from three-point distance and once rang up 56 points against Loyola-Marymount in a performance that included an NCAA-record 11-of-19 effort from three-point range.
